EIT is a privately owned company founded in 1977 by Joe T. May to provide full contract electronic design and manufacturing services to OEM's from product concept through distribution and aftermarket support.

EIT serves a broad customer base throughout the United States and Canada in the medical and analytical instrumentation, industrial process controls and communications industries. EIT is particularly proud of its many customer partnerships which average over 10 years of continued dedication to creative design and quality production.
EIT employs over 230 people in engineering, production and technical support positions. Everyone at EIT is focused on the customer's service requirements - from design through delivery - with particular emphasis on cost, quality and on-time delivery.
EIT has received numerous "Outstanding Quality" awards from its customers over the past 30 years. In 1990, EIT was named "Virginia Employer of the Year." In 1990, and again in 1995, EIT received the Virginia Society of Professional Engineers award for new products as a result of its design efforts.
